In an upper division level, he learned a sculpting program known as ZBrush. ZBrush ia a powerful for sculpting digital characters. Stewart is now a senior and will earn a BA in studio art by the Spring of 2017. Stewart's favorite project used the program called ZBrush, which is designed to sculpt complex models. This model is not an original design but an accustomed version of one sculpted by Jimmy Stewart. The theme of the project was fantasy, so Jimmy picked Fantasy Sci-Fi.
Artist Statement
I am a digital artist as well as an animator. I have learned several skills in different forms of digital art. The basic programs I learned are Photoshop, Illustrator, Web design, After Effects, Maya, and ZBrush. I like to create fictional characters that already exist, as well as my own designs. I especially like to create faces. Faces are fun to create because I can give them their distinct personalities. Lately, I have been focusing on a program known as ZBrush. ZBrush is a powerful program for sculpting digital characters. Models created in ZBrush can be exported to any of the animating programs that exist such as Maya. I will come up with different sketches and different views of a model. Such views include front, side, top, and bottom. Whether it’s an original character or a replicate, it is important to see all angels before sculpting out a project. When I have completed a model, I will add lights. I can choose different colors to brighten my model in the scene, and then make a turnaround camera. This way viewers can see the whole model that has been created.
